Since it opened in 1975, International House Language Centre Palermo has provided language courses, exams and professional development opportunities for language teachers both internally and in the wider community.

As part of the International House World Organisation, we are supported by the knowledge and expertise of professionals around the world, ensuring that we deliver our lessons with the most up-to-date methodology, engaging and practical lessons to suit individual needs.

International House - Language Centre Palermo offers Italian courses for students of all nationalities, with levels from beginner to advanced. Our programmes are now specifically designed for school groups seeking an engaging and immersive learning experience here in Palermo.

Classes are mainly in the mornings and have different intensities.
The use of textbooks and all teaching materials are included in the price of the course. All course materials are chosen every year among the best available on the market.

International House students have access to our SAC (Self Access Centre) with 15 online PCs to practice Italian and use the internet. Every computer is equipped with thousands of exercises and reference materials for language study. The whole school has wi-fi internet access.

IH Sicily is a group of schools which operates on the beautiful island of Sicily, in the South of Italy. IH Palermo and IH Catania are fully qualified centres that offer Italian language courses both for individuals or groups.

We offer General Italian courses for school groups, exam preparation, work experience, scuba diving and cookery lessons.

The schools are both located in the heart of the city centre. The school's excellent locations mean you are never more than a short walk away from all the major attractions in Palermo and Catania.

The wonderful sea landscape, the great warm-heartedness of its inhabitants, the rich and unique culture, its archeological and ancient sites, the active volcanoes such as Mount Etna and a Mediterranean climate, makes it an ideal place to be at any time of the year.

I enjoyed my course at International House in Sicily. The location was very nice.
The course was good and thorough. My teacher Benedetta was very knowledgeable and inspiring.
And she was nice and friendly.

I would have liked more conversation and pronunciation exercises because this is the hardest part and you could benefit more from this, being in the country itself.

"That was ok."

I spent one week classes to the international school. The welcoming was ok. The location is perfect and the facilities are great in the school.

I really wanted to speak as much as possible. Even if the teacher was really nice, we spent one week to analyse the differences between two tenses that I perfectly understood before coming. I feel that we could have talked more and about more practical subjects. I don't think that talking about religion is necessary at such a low level. I know that my frustration comes from my job as I am a French teacher for foreigners so I deal very well with the grammar. Some days I replay felt that I was loosing my time and money.

I have still appreciated to go there everyday and I would probably come back to the school in a future trip to Palermo but I guess, an individual teacher would have worked better for me.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

Your letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged 25 € when you register.
