"A teacher meets a student wherever he is... but never leaves him there." Dr. Paul Muller Ortega
The Kula Centre opened its doors in October 2011 with the vision of providing a welcoming community space to facilitate learning and personal development for the local and wider community.
Committed to serving each individual on their path of learning, and respecting the beautiful planet we co-inhabit, we ensure our objectives are met by providing dedicated and passionate teachers and professionals, and operating in an eco-socially responsible way.
The Centre is named after the Sanskrit word 'kula' which can be translated as 'community of the heart', or 'a group holding sacred a common bond as part of the spiritual journey'.
It is our practice to celebrate diversity in our students and community, and we believe that we learn from the unique talents from all those around us. When one person has a revelationary experience or 'learning breakthrough' in class, it uplifts everyone else. Classes are taught in a fun, supportive and non-competitive manner, where individuality and creative self-expression are encouraged.
Amaia, an English student, says:
"I've been to the Kula Centre as an English student since the opening of the Centre. I´ve always felt very well there. The teachers are amazing; they´re very kind and very dynamic, with a lot of energy. There´s a very friendly atmosphere. It´s possible to do different activities in the Centre: English classes, yoga in English, sewing group, English for children... You'll be very lucky if you have time for all these different activities!!!"
Clara, the mother of an English student, says:
"Hi, I'm the mother of a 12-year-old kid that goes to The Kula Centre and I’d like to say that the classes are fantastic. First of all, they are very well prepared by the teacher, who is a great professional and knows how to convey their knowledge to the children. The classes are very joyful, fun and varied. They learn English applying it to different practical situations. My son attends them with delight and his level of English, especially his fluency, has improved a lot. Highly recommendable."
