The Alliance Française in Grenoble
The first Alliance Française was founded in 1883 in Paris under the aegis of Paul Cambon and Pierre Foncin. Famous persons like Ferdinand de Lesseps, Louis Pasteur, Ernest Renan, Jules Verne, Armand Colin were members of the board of directors.
The Alliances Françaises are autonomous local associations but part of the large global network (about 900 Alliances Françaises in 135 countries). Their board of directors consist of volonteers, often public personalities.
The Alliance Française of Grenoble that was founded en 1967, is one of the 20 Alliances Françaises in France.
