All our homestay hosts are carefully chosen by our accommodation officer, who visits all hosts; checks with the relevant authorities are also made to ensure they are suitable to host students.

You can tell us specific needs, for example, if you don’t like dogs or you are a vegetarian. You will be met at the coach or train station by your hosts. Homestay hosts are normally in walking distance (5-30 minutes) of the school and all are within 30 minutes travel time. Bus passes are available for a cost of about £19 per week for unlimited local travel.*

The price includes breakfast and dinner Monday to Friday, and all meals at weekends. Homestay hosts will do light laundry and will provide towels and bedding.

Homestay shared room accommodation is already included in the Junior/Teenager Summer Course fees.
Shared room is only available for adults coming in a group, with a friend or as a couple.

NOTE: If you have any medical requirements, dietary requests or allergies to foods, you must tell us when booking. Special diets such as Gluten-Free, Vegan, Lactose-Free will be charged a supplement of £20 per week (there is no extra charge for vegtarians if you tell us when booking).
If we are not informed in advance of these requirements and we need to change your family because of this, we reserve the right to charge a fee of £50 for any homestay changes.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from . Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.

We are in Torquay, a beautiful seaside town on the English Riviera - a UNESCO world Geopark (There are only 2 others in England) The school is in the centre of town (Pop.70000), overlooking the harbour and bay. There are sea views from all front classrooms. The South West of England is the main tourist region in the country, and features in the novels of Rosumund Pilcher. Easy connections to London, which can be reached by direct train in 3 hours.
