"Help me a lot, especially the public speaking skill"

Xiaofeng Xu, student from USA

I like this class, all professor and classes are kindness, responsible for my practice and homework, including every tiny detail. The coffee machine outside the classroom located in the public space is amazing too, useful for students to relax during the break time. Location is near to the subway, motivated me came on time, as I could get there by train easily without too much walk.

"Just perfect"

Ewa Supera , student from Poland

All classes were awesome. Every week we had different topic like traveling or art and entertainment so it was fun. Every day we practiced reading, grammar, listening and speaking. Once a week we practiced writing. We often worked in groups or in pairs and we could get to know each other better. The teacher, Anisha, was really kind and helpful. She also made classes very interesting. Moreover, the school is located on 63rd floor of the Empire State Building so the view is breathtaking. My host family was perfect. They were like a real family to me which made my stay unforgettable. It was the best time of my life. I totally recommend this school.

"I liked the training and the overall atmosphere"

Анна Сеглина, student from Kazakhstan

I liked my teacher and the general atmosphere in the classroom and in the school. It had a friendly attitude.
We did not like how it was organized to inform us about the testing. I had not been informed that it would be in a different place.

"NYC lifestyle"

Raquel Vidal Castello, student from Spain

I really enjoyed the location of the school because it's easy to reach by any subway line, and there's a lot of things to do around. The classes are fun and they promote the speaking aspect, which I think is essential to move around NY. I haven't attended any activity organized by the school, because I already had my activities planned, and I just like to improvise things. Housing was really good, Weller Residence is just one subway stop from Manhattan, so it's easy to reach any point in the island, and it gives you the chance to discover Brooklyn too. I would definitely repeat my experience with Kaplan.

visa

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.

Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged $75 when you register.

Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.

Flights and airport transfer

The school offers airport pickup services. If you wish to be picked up, just give us your flight details and arrival date. The price of a one-way airport transfer from John F Kennedy International Airport is $160. You must book your airport transfer in advance when you register.

Please note that we do not book flights for our students. If you are researching airfare costs, we recommend using Kayak.com, a search engine that lets you compare flight options from your home country to New York City based on your budget, schedule and preferences.

When you book a course with us, you can opt to purchase an international insurance plan that covers not only your health care cost but also loss of your personal belongings. "1. What's in the rooms in terms of equipment: a kitchen (dishes, utensils, electrical appliances), bed linens, and towels? 2. Will cleaning be done and what if so, what is the price if it's not in the accommodations price already? 3. Will they change linens and towels, and how often (if this service is provided)? 4. Is there a washing machine, ironing board and iron directly in the apartment? Or somewhere on the floor?"

Elena Vetoshkina, student from Russia

1. The apartment has a full kitchen (including fridge, oven/stove, &
microwave), and furnished with all basic dishware & utensils. Bed linens
are provided (but must be washed & maintained by the student). We also
provide 2 bath towels per student.

2. The student apartments are cleaned once week by the school
housekeeper. This is provided at no additional cost.

3. Linens & towels are not changed. The student is responsible for
washing all towels & linens.

4. The apartment does not have a laundry facility. For washing, the
students typically go to a local Laundry Mat (all service information will
be provided at school). Iron & ironing board are provided at the
apartment.
