"Frustrating"

Clarissa Flores, student from USA

The people and teachers are nice, but the structure is poor: old computers, no kitchen, small bathroom. Too many people in the classroom.

"Amazing!"

Katerina Härkin, student from Finland

All the teacher were really amazing. They take care that everyone understand but still made learning really fun and interesting! Location was perfect to me and activities and everything was really good. I don't have anything negative to say. Actually I decide to go back to school in January. I would totally recommend that school to everyone. I learned so much!

"It was a once in a lifetime experience!"

Maria Haase, student from Germany

I had a one-on-one course, so I was the only student in my class. I enjoyed my course a lot because my teacher focused on my needs all the time. I could tell her what I would like to do, what I would like to do a little more detailed, what I don't want to do, etc. This definitely helped me a lot and this way I could really improve my English.
The teachers were all really nice and helpful. The atmosphere at ELS Tampa is great because as a student you feel appreciated and you're treated with respect. I had a lot of fun and the people at ELS always tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible.
My teacher and I made quite a few field trips and I was always in charge of where we would go.
I will definitely recommend the school to my family and friends.

visa

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.

Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged $110 when you register.

Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.

Ask a question

"Can a student start a 4-weekl course half-way through?"

Frida Test, student from USA
Alexandra Rafailovic, ELS Language Centers school representative (Student Services Coordinator Housing & Airport Pickup A Centers)

This is possible. Hoever, the student would already have missed the beginning of an already partial session request. By the time we get approval and she takes the placement test, she would have less than 1 and ½ weeks of classes. And ELS would not be able to guarantee the correct language level as she missed the first day of placement testing. We would typically recommend an alternative.

"Can a student with an A2 visa enrol in a 30 lesson intensive course?"

Alexandra Rafailovic, ELS Language Centers school representative (Student Services Coordinator Housing & Airport Pickup A Centers)

Yes. As long as the primary visa holder (the person on the 'A' visa for whom the student is a dependent) is maintaint their status of 'A1 visa'
