"Outstanding -- and the best part was the quality of the students"

David Benkof, student from Israel

I really liked my class, and both the instructor and the curriculum were impressive. But my favorite part was the fluency and eagerness of the students. I speak at an advanced level and was nervous that the class was "Intermediate," but it was perfectly advanced and taught at a nice clip. I thoroughly recommend this school.

"It was the first experience."

Sylvie GRÉGORIOU Dholandre, student from France

I liked this concept. It’s better than French lessons.
I had two teachers. I appreciated this. I had good relations with my partners into the classroom and I met beautiful people.

I would have preferred to have had the information meeting before arriving in Canada. This point has never been clear in the organization. I missed a lesson in class because the meeting was on the first day. It's a shame because I only had a week of lessons.

"Very friendly and welcoming faculty and staff. Accommodating to the students."

Aaron Sock, student from Canada

As soon as I arrived, I received a warm welcome along with a 1 on 1 orientation. Went through the necessary documentation and began learning. The class sizes makes the experience seem more personal. The location is great which makes break time lunch and/or snacks conveniently located.

"The exact school and program I was looking for"

Florent Mothe, student from France

EC Montreal was able to find the right teacher for my needs.
He adapted our one to one class to my level and understood what I needed to focus on while covering the basics which one always needs to review.

The school is located in the heart of Montreal at a 3 min walk from the nearest subway station.

I did not participate to any of the activities nor did I use the housing the school offered having other occupations outside of the school. Also, I was very glad that they were able to reschedule classes that i couldn't attend to.

I would highly recommend EC Montreal for their one to one program.

Dear John,

Thank you very much for your nice words.

We are glad to hear that you had a great time with EC Montreal.

We look forward to having you back with us one day in the future

Best wishes

"A great learning experience in a wonderful city"

Ahmed Slagour, student from Saudi Arabia

Learning in EC School was fun, although I only stayed for one week. It was an amazing experience, to say the least. The teachers and staff of the school were so nice. The school made me eager to learn because this school was just a warm place where everyone wanted to help you, and this helped me learn more French than I expected. Staying at Varcity515 was nice for its great location and the attention given to small details.

"EC International makes language learning accessible and easy for anyone."

Franklin Head, student from USA

I really enjoyed my time at EC International. The class size was perfect and I thought the location was great. I felt overwhelmed at first but I soon settled in comfortably. It was only once that I felt some students were taking over the lesson, but the teacher got us back on track. I really liked the cooking class but I would recommend it for an intermediate French speaker. All in all it was a great experience. I have nothing but good words to say about EC International.

questions

Questions and answers

Have questions? Get answers from EC English Language Schools: Montreal staff, Language International student advisors, and past students.

Ask a question

"So the document that she will need from your school to apply for the study permit is just the letter of acceptance/invitation letter?"

Helen Kogan, student from Russia
RAFAEL LOPEZ, Montreal International Institute of Language Arts school representative

Yes, the only document that the student will need to apply for the visa is the Letter of Acceptance.

Was this helpful? Yes

"I have a prospective student from Russia who would like to study at Montreal International Institute of Language Arts. The mother would like to receive a permit (I assume this means working permit) since this is the COOP program. For foreigners, you cannot receive a permit until after you have lived there one year, is this correct?"

Dyan Test, student from USA
RAFAEL LOPEZ, Montreal International Institute of Language Arts school representative

The students who want to register for a Language COOP program must take only full time programs. Either intensive (22.5 hours per week) or super intensive (30 hours per week). In this case the student must apply for a CAQ (Certificate of Acceptance of Quebec) a study permit and a work permit.

Was this helpful? Yes

"My apologies for the confusion. I meant just in general if a student wants to study (not on the COOP program) just part time or standard courses. Can they take part time courses to get a visa is there a minimum number of hours they must study in Canada? In Europe it's 20 lessons. In the US there's no minimum for tourists but a minimum of 18 hours for study visas."

Dyan Test, student from USA
RAFAEL LOPEZ, Montreal International Institute of Language Arts school representative

Do not worry. I do not know the exact number of hours in Canada but the minimum number of hours to apply for a study permit, according to our programs will be 22.5 (Full-time program). International students cannot register for Part-Time courses from outside Canada if they plan to apply for a Study Permit. If you are an international student and wish to apply for a Study Permit, you need to be studying full-time (Intensive or Super Intensive programs only).

Was this helpful? Yes

"So it must be a full time course. Thanks for letting me know! I will try to work with this student, but it's extremely hard since she has a child and doesn't know what to do with her."

Dyan Test, student from USA
RAFAEL LOPEZ, Montreal International Institute of Language Arts school representative

In that case what we will do it to register her for a full-time course and once here we can modify the program length and recalculate the invoice. This way she will get the study permit and will spend more time with her daughter.

Was this helpful? Yes

"I have a prospective student from Switzerland who would like to study at a Canadian High School for half a year or one year. Could you let me know if your school has a cooperation with a Canadian, ideally bilingual high school that our customer could attend? If yes, could you let me know further information, prices, enrollment procedures, etc, please?"

Basel Nejem, College Platon school representative

Unfortunately we don’t operate any high schools in Canada, because we are just the one of private language schools in Quebec.
