I have been studying Russian for over a year and haven't had much opportunity to use it in the classroom. This week in Kiev allowed me to put the theory into practice and gave me confidence to continue. It also reinforced the basics that i thought i had forgotten.Show details » Read more...

A small group of 2 people, interesting activities.
Location in the city center. Very good teachers.
The best individual classes I've had for years. I could talk and discuss current topics, not just rework books.
Individual classes active adapted to my requests. They developed my vocabulary.
I had individual classes with the best teacher. I think about going back to school next year and about the exam

I arrived in Kiev on the 12th of October and after few days I began the course at Lev Tolstoj Language School. I attended A2 class level. It was an interesting experience. I learned a lot about Russian language and culture. Actually I had already studied Russian language at university but unfortunately we don't have much opportunity to practice because we were always more than 30 people in class so it was hard to speak in Russian with our teacher. But at Lev Tolstoj Language School we were five people in class, each of us form a different country so it was easier to us to speak in Russian we other students and in particular with our the teacher Valeria. She was realy nice, patient and professional. She was always ready to help when I have questions or doubts. Not only do we practice speaking skill during lesson, we also study grammar rules and vocabulary.
I think I have learned a lot form this experience, I wuold recommend to anyone.
I spent here three months. My level of Russian was already good (B2) and here, thanks to the professionalism of teachers, I succeeded in improving even more my level. The teacher are really professional, always in time and always ready to help you. The organization of the school is awesome, they always try to do what's best for you. Thank you for this wonderful experience.Show details » Read more...
It's years I try to study the Russian language. I started by myself and then I tried with a school in my Country. I often travel in Russian speaking countries and I often tried to have some spare lessons. Most of the time, unfortunately, teachers were not teachers but just mother-tongue that had no idea of what they were doing, we were just sitting in front of the book or this was my idea. In Tolstoy center I finally found the professionalism I was looking for ! My teacher was very very very good. The lessons were a great mix of grammar, listening, talking and she always proposed some interesting activities to the group which make us speak and try. The school was a bit small I must say but it is really in the center, 1 minutes walking from the Golden gate in a very good area full of restaurants and bars. I really feel improved and I'd like to come back !Tolstoy school was the right choice for me!Show details » Read more...
