The minimum duration for a language course is usually two weeks, but students benefit the most starting from the 3rd and 4th weeks of their language course, after they get used to the new environment. By this time, the early distractions are over and the student has "settled in". The average student takes about 12 weeks of language studies abroad.
This course runs 5 days a week (Sundays through Thursdays), for 4 hours a day. Every hour focuses on a language skill: vocabulary, listening, reading comprehension, and speaking. Students get a new teacher every hour, which introduces them to different styles and enables them to develop more friendships with Egyptians. Textbooks and a variety of other materials are used in instruction, including role-playing, newspapers, magazines and other materials.
