All programs at The Language Company are grounded in pedagogically sound principles of second language acquisition and the development of academic literacy in English as a second language. These principles are infused into all classes across all levels and all language domains of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
TLC selects instructors who are both knowledgeable and enthusiastic with regards to not only the formal instruction delivered in the classroom but also in less formal settings such as discussion groups and off-campus trips. The professionalism and quest for continuously improving the quality of TLC instruction at all centers are supported by opportunities for Professional Development at both the center and corporate level.
Programs at each TLC center support our larger Mission Statement in addressing the needs of all students and support the broader curriculum parameters of The Language Company as a whole while maintaining the individual requirements of each host university or cooperative institution. The Language Company also values accreditation of all of our centers and the maintenance of that accreditation with ACCET
The nationality and age mix at The Language Company varies over different time periods, courses and levels.

TLC-Edmond (Edmond, Oklahoma) is located on the University of Central Oklahoma campus. Our intensive English program is highly academic since the majority of our students go on to a university to study.
We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.
Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you.
Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.
Please note that we do not book flights for our students. If you are researching airfare costs, we recommend using Kayak.com, a search engine that lets you compare flight options from your home country to Edmond based on your budget, schedule and preferences.
