"Wonderful trip to dublin"

Jan Karwofsky, student from Germany

I spent four weeks in Dublin. There I attended the NCG for a general English course. Miriam and Alice were great teachers. I really enjoyed attending their classes. I also had a 1:1 course with Sandra one week. The lessons were also great with her.
I always found support in the office from Mick and his colleagues. Thank you very much for that!

I will definitely recommend you to others.

"Good experience"

Man Ling Lau, student from Hong Kong

It was a great experience overall. The teachers were nice and passionate in teaching. I did a test on Friday and submitted a homework, and they said they might send it to me by email, however I haven't received their email yet. I would be happy if could get the email so I would know the correct answers.

"It was really a great experience"

Elise Scotton, student from France

It was a really great experience, lovely meetings.
The teachers were very nice and the school is pleasant. The activities proposed by the school were nice.
If you want to meet a lot of people and different cultures, I recommend the accommodation/residence, the hostel called Marina House. The manager is very friendly and has a very good ambiance.

"Great time in Ireland"

Student from Austria, student from Austria

I had a great time in Ireland. I met a lot of nice students from all over the world. Also the teachers were awesome. The lessons were very interesting because it wasn't only grammar. We learned about the Irish culture and current news. I really recommend this school and the experience to learn a language in a different country.

Negative point was the accommodation. It was cold and dirty.

Hello Talal,
thank you very much for your kind review. We are happy you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to welcoming you again.
All the best

"Great place for English study combined with a vacation for younger persons"

Yoko Matsuki, student from Japan

Their teachers are excellent. They have friendly staff, and their location is wonderful as it is near the sea. We had different social activities, with small classes off-season with Irish host families to experience the Irish culture and to practice speaking English.

It was a much more positive experience than it was negative. My less liked factors are the small public spaces like the toilets, or the entrance where the bulletin boards are.

Ask a question

"I have 3 prospective student from Italy who would like to study at Language in Dublin. They are 3 kids of 5,7 and 9 years old. Can you make an exception and accept the 5 years old child?"

Axelle de Sainte Preuve, Language In Group school representative

We would not be able to accept the 5 year old child as the Play with English course starts from 7 years old. Also, 7 to 11 years olds attending the Play with English course must travel with their parents. Parents or guardians are responsible for the children of this age outside of the lessons and activities. There is no registration fee applying to the course Play with English.

"Please send me together with the dates also the price of the course without activities or it's the same?"

simona rolla, student from Switzerland
Axelle de Sainte Preuve, Language In Group school representative

We do not offer the course without activities for the junior programs.

Was this helpful? Yes

"The student is interested in General English + part time work placement program and would like to continue in full time work placement upon completion of her program. She is interested in continuing work placement full time in another company upon completing the program. Would she be able to do so? If yes, would she need to complete a 4 weeks' General English course in between? Would she need to pay another placement fee?"

Axelle de Sainte Preuve, Language In Group school representative

We could arrange a part time and then full time work placement in different companies but the student will have to be flexible in terms of the working field. She would not need to take more lessons in between the 2 work placements but she would have to pay a certain amount as a total for the 2 work placements.

"I have two prospective students from Italy who would like to study at Language in Dublin. How long must the students be available for after the initial 4 week course to do the work experience portion? There are two lawyers who would like to do paralegal work - have there been any students in this field of work previously?"

Dyan Test, student from USA
Axelle de Sainte Preuve, Language In Group school representative

Regarding the work experience placement, students need to have a minimum level of intermediate (B1).

Was this helpful? Yes

"I understand that they need to have a level of intermediate. They aren't exactly sure if theirs is pre-intermediate or intermediate. In the even that their level is intermediate, could you please tell me the answer to the following: How long must the students be available for after the initial 4 week course to do the work experience portion? There are two lawyers who would like to do paralegal work have there been any students in this field of work previously?"

Dyan Test, student from USA
Axelle de Sainte Preuve, Language In Group school representative

Regarding the length of work placement, after doing 4 weeks course, the minimum would be 4 weeks. If they are asking for a specific work placement, we would do our best to find the area they are interested in, though it would depend on their English level and previous work experience.

"I have a prospective student who would like to study at Language in Dublin. The student is only 6 years old and is below the minimum age of 7 years old required to join the course below. Can you make an exception and accept our student into the program? We have informed the student's family that the minimum age is 7 years old. The student's family is fully aware that the student will be with other students who are older. In addition, what is the difference between beginner level and elementary level. The student, being 6, version of elementary is much different than an adult level of elementary."

Dyan Test, student from USA
Axelle de Sainte Preuve, Language In Group school representative

Regarding the Play with English course, we would not be able to accept 6 year old students unless she is turning 7 in 2015.The elementary level would mean that they need to know a little bit of English (been introduced to English) in order to start the course.

Was this helpful? Yes

"The student is about 6 and a half and I can get her date of birth for you if needed. The grandmother says she has certainly been exposed to English. She has a lesson once a week, but at her age, she hasn't picked up very much yet."

Dyan Test, student from USA
Axelle de Sainte Preuve, Language In Group school representative

Yes please send me the birthdates of the student. Also, the grandmother will have to be in charge of the child after the day at school (course + activities).

Was this helpful? Yes

"Yes, the grandmother and the mother should both be there to take care of the student after the school day is over. The birth date is March 10th 2008."

Dyan Test, student from USA
Axelle de Sainte Preuve, Language In Group school representative

Yes the age of the student is fine as she will be 7 when starting the course. I have had a look at the price and it is correct for 2 weeks. There is no registration fee on our junior programs.

Was this helpful? Yes

"The grandmother has written back that she confirms that she'd like to enroll her granddaughter. She is just wondering now how much it would cost for her and her granddaughter to live in a host family with a private bathroom if it's possible."

Anna Chiaratti, student from Italy
Axelle de Sainte Preuve, Language In Group school representative

I have checked the possibilities for them to stay in host family with private bathroom in twin room. As the Play with English course starts on the 6th July, they would have to arrive on the 5th July. We do have a very nice host family who could offer them to stay in a twin room with private bathroom. The grand-mother will have to take a course so we can offer this accommodation type.

Was this helpful? Yes

"I have a prospective student who would like to study at Language in Dublin. Can you accept the student in home stay traveling alone in a double room? If not any availability for a single room?"

Axelle de Sainte Preuve, Language In Group school representative

The student choosing no accommodation, will be under his parents’ responsibility after the lessons and activities. Parents will have to be bring and pick up the student at the centre every day. If the student is interested in staying at NCI including accommodation and come on his own, we can welcome him to stay in a single ensuite room at our NCI residence. The package will be the one including accommodation. If the student is interested to come to Dublin to participate to our junior summer centre and stay with a host family, he can join our South Dublin summer centre including accommodation.
