LAL Fort Lauderdale
Standard General English is a group course, with 15 hours per week in classes of up to 12 students. This course is suitable for you if you would like to become a confident speaker of English and maximize your ability to use English in everyday situations. On the course you will develop your language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking), improve your knowledge of grammar and learn how to use it in practice. You can join the course every Monday (or the first Monday of the month if you are a beginner).
The course will cover everyday English reading, writing and listening with an emphasis on speaking and practical communication in common situations, such as travelling, shopping, and leisure time. There will be support with grammar and pronunciation, and we will also introduce study skills to help you to become an efficient learner and to keep learning when you are out of the classroom.
The course will usually follow a course book, but we will also use a wide range of materials, including real-life listening and video examples, authentic texts and on-line resources. The content of the lessons is adapted to your needs and interests. All students have the opportunity to discuss, negotiate and plan the week’s work with their teacher and fellow students.

I went with my 14 years old son, it was amazing. He loved, made a lot of friends . I loved it too, my teacher Judith is fantastic. I learned a lot, ,thank you .
My friends were from differents countries and it was fantastic to know their culture .
I 'll recommend for sure .
The school was easy to find. The classrooms were large enough for the group. We were about 8-9 students at the same time. The school personnel were very welcoming and friendly. My group had three teachers. Each was very qualified and helpful. It was very pleasant to talk with people from other countries. My husband liked ours classes so much, we decided to stay for the third week.
For the activities, we went with a group to the Everglades for the air-boat tour. We talked a lot with other students. Very pleasant. We went to the BB&C to watch a hockey game. It was difficult to talk with other students because we stayed near the arena, it should be better buying our tickets by ourselves.
But one thing that I hated a lot was some students were always texting during the class and I am sure they were texting each other (I was seated next to one of them). It was very disturbing during the last week. It was worse and the teacher didn't stop them.
I liked the experience and I hope to repeat in September. I had a short stay - two months is very little time to learn a language, but I have noticed the difference of studying in Spain and studying in the United States with you. I am happy with the result! I am now here in Spain, and will save up to go back to LaL.Show details » Read more...
Hello, we are really happy to receive your message. We will be delighted to welcome you again in our LAL school. :) We hope that all goes well in Spain?

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.
If you are studying full time in the United States for more than 18 hours per week, you will receive an I-20 that you need to submit to the US embassy along with your F-1 student visa application. The I-20 has a SEVIS tracking number on it. Students who wish to apply for a student visa must pay the SEVIS fee online before going to the US embassy or consulate for their visa interview.
Your I-20 will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged $100 when you register.
Please note that United States law states that an I-20 can only be issued to students who intend to pursue full-time English language studies. United States law does not permit students to study part-time with an F-1 Student Visa. If you are studying for less than 18 hours per week, you have to apply for a Visitor Visa (B1/B2) on your own.
Please note that we do not book flights for our students. If you are researching airfare costs, we recommend using Kayak.com, a search engine that lets you compare flight options from your home country to Fort Lauderdale based on your budget, schedule and preferences.
