"Great experience"

Ana Ambrožič, student from Slovenia

I really liked my experience at Edgware Academy, especially because of a very versatile group of students attending classes, in terms of ethnic background as well as age. I liked the fact that the classes were very relaxed, and there was the right balance between grammar, vocabulary and speaking exercises - none too many and none too much.
The teachers were great.
The location was also great, near Hyde Park, near to the tube. Facilities were OK, except, I would prefer wooden chairs or something from more natural materials. When you sit in the classroom for the entire day, it is great if the chairs are comfortable.
I arranged my own housing.

"Unsatisfactory"

Monica Canestrelli

I only give 2 stars because of the linguistic competence of the teacher, but the organization within the classroom has left a lot to be desired. The pupils mostly arrived late and translating never told them anything. There was a continuous use of mobile phones during the lesson time without the slightest respect for the class and the teacher. Moreover, the strangest thing to me is that however I have not found, and that Friday, for me last lesson of the course, the hours in the class have been replaced by the visit to the beautiful market port. Honestly, I find this situation inadequate replacement, as I have paid for hours of lessons and the fact of going out is in my opinion of social activities and not the hours of class. Social activities should be written beyond the hours of lessons that have been agreed. Moreover, while Thursday my teacher had told me to have talked with the school director who had allowed me to attend the lessons of the course above mine, on Friday morning when I showed up for the course the director told me that all the courses they would go to port beautiful market. I do not think this is adequate and that it is correct.

Visa support

We cannot apply for visas on behalf of students. However, the school can supply you with all the documentation you need to support your visa application.

If you are studying in the UK for over 11 months, you will receive a reference number called a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) that you need to submit to the UK embassy along with your General Student Visa application. Students who have successfully booked a language course and have paid their fees will receive a CAS from EA. Please note that UK law states that a CAS can only be issued to students who intend to pursue English language studies for over 11 months.

If you are studying in the UK for 11 months or less, you have to apply for a special visitor visa called a Student Visitor Visa. As a student visitor, you will not be able to work part-time while studying. If you plan to study in the UK for 11 months or less, a letter of acceptance will be sent to your home address by regular mail at no charge to you. If you wish to receive your paperwork by express mail, you will be charged £ 65 when you register.
