It is the uniqueness of Byron Bay that our students enjoy. Its beaches are like a dream come true, with their white sand and the clear turquoise-blue water. They are some of the best beaches in Australia. Stretching between the headlands of the northern New South Wales coast, many beaches are sheltered from the wind and offer great surfing waves. Clean and undeveloped, the beaches are neither overcrowded nor shaded by high-rise buildings. Ranging in temperature from around 18C in the winter to 26C in the summer, the water is perfect all year round. It’s a paradise and people feel good. That makes them friendly and open, another great thing about the atmosphere and positive energy of Byron Bay. You will make new friends with both students and local people.
The school's motto - "Learn to Live! "
BBELS has partnerships with the following universities and colleges in Australia. You can gain full or conditional acceptance into one of these institutions.

BBELS is located 1-minute walk from the bus stop, right in the centre of Byron Bay CBD. The supermarket, banks, post office, shops, cafes, etc are all within 3 minutes walk from the school building. Even better is that the wonderful beaches are 5 minutes walk from the school.
I had a great time in small classes, learning multiple skills in different ways. The classes were good, even though they were sometimes a bit long. The ones in the afternoon were really interesting and I learned a lot about Australian stuff!
I did a month at school and for another month I was volunteering at the lighthouse. I also had a wonderful time there because I learned so many things about whales and about the history of Byron Bay! I was able to then explain what I learned to people who asked me and this exchange with them was really nice, as I also learned from them and improved my language skills.
The family who I was staying with was really nice and I loved talking with them and going with them to some places they liked. It was also a way for me to discover the Australian life. I've been keeping contact with the family for one year and a half now. It's awesome to get news from the other side of the world!
Byron Bay is a great place. BBELS is the perfect starting point for an amazing 360º experience. The quality of its teachers and the range of courses make it very suitable for learning English. The location, just at the heart of the town, and proximity to the beach are also very important points.Show details » Read more...
Hi my name is Giulia,
I enjoyed every day in Byron Bay; the beautiful landscape, the ocean, the nature and especially the sunrise and the sunset.
There is a great healthy lifestyle, everyone is good and friendly.
There is always something interesting to do. Every day the school organizes some activities or excursions for students. The school makes the students feel like a small family, a super crazy multicultural family. Every day we learned something new about the place, about ourselves and about the people.
I love the cafeteria Oska, a little corner where i can relax every day.
We also had a school party. We had so much fun every time, and we had the opportunity to get to know each other better, listen to some music and sing all together.
The facilities at the school were very good, with plenty of space for students, a computer room, a kitchen and a wide lounge where the school organized parties. The course was organized efficiently and the teachers were well-prepared, very funny and available if you needed help. The location is amazing, both from a naturalistic (with enormous beaches, a rain forest was nearby, lots of wildlife and little pollution) and human point of view (everyone was friendly and relaxed). The activities were varied: sports, cultural activities, school trips, etc. Some were free and many had a reduction from the original price. Collectively, they were very entertaining. I did not like the housing, as the house where I stayed in I was offered very little food at dinner (although it was included in the price), the bed was uncomfortable and the walls so thin I could hear any movement and therefore often woke up at night.Show details » Read more...
