"An amazing but strong experience."

Bernadette Steiner, student from Switzerland

My language stay in Nottingham was a complete success. I felt very comfortable. I lived in the city centre. I always walked the way to school. The city has beautiful parks. The tram and the buses are optimal. This place is very inviting for shopping and eating or drinking something in the evening.

"The morning classes were very good and helpful, the afternoon classes weren't."

Jann Niklas Durben, student from Germany

The morning classes together with Joseph were very good. He worked with us very close. If I had any question he helped until I understood it. The topics were quiet hard to understand, but Joseph explained it very good so at the and it was very nice to understand even the more difficult questions. The afternoon lessons weren't very helpful. They were funny and interesting but not very helpful to improve my English. The Teachers were very good, specially Joseph. For the next time I would only take the morning classes.

Thank you very much for reviewing ILS English.

We really pride ourselves on offering high-quality services to our pupils, and we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time here!

We don't have a ping pong table because we don't have the space for it, but we do have a football table! Maybe in the future!

Best of luck with everything, and we hope to see you again in the near future.

"A very good experience to learn and to open my mind to improve my knowledge in English and to meet new people from different countries, other ideas about the world."

Bernard Gaube, student from Belgium

My first day in Nottingham, I didn't talk. Nothing with any one. My comprehension of audition was very, very difficult. Thanks to my host family, every day I had more and more confidence. My housing was very nice and comfortable. My hostess was a very, very good cook and very welcoming person. Every day after dinner we talked together. She taught me different meanings of the English tongue.Every morning I walked a half hour to go to the college. I liked this walk before the lessons and on the end of afternoon when I was walking back to home. I was very happy with the teacher's team and I think that each of them helped me to improve in my study of English. I liked the town of Nottingham. This area was peaceful. A good place to learn for who like that.

"Very international experience in a pretty city."

Marzia Cakilli, student from Italy

I really appreciated my experience in Nottingham with ILS.
Teachers: they are all very good teachers; maybe I would introduce more grammar exercises after explaining a grammar rule.
Classes: the upper-intermediate class was a little bit crowded when all the students attended it. Fortunately, some of the students often miss lessons.
Location: it was perfect. Not too big and not too small.
Activities: I saw on the bulletin board that several interesting trips are scheduled for July and August. Maybe it would have been better to introduce more trips for other months. (for example: I stayed from 7th May to 28th May and there wasn't any excursion organized for that period). You can also try to organize other activities such as bowling or something like this in order to make students interact with each other better.

Thank you so much for your feedback. At ILS, we try to keep the classes as small as possible so students get maximum time with their teacher but in the summer, we are always very busy.

We now do run smaller trips on Friday afternoons to mini golf, video gaming lounge and pubs in Nottingham. The main city trips always take place during the summer as the weather is much more reliable!

Best of luck with everything, and we hope to see you again in the near future.

"I found a good school with positive vibrations. This has been my best experience ever with a host family."

stefano peduto, student from Italy

During my experience there, I met a lot of interesting and positive people. The teachers were prepared, skilled, and able to make a positive atmosphere. Even their business English course was well-managed, certainly useful, and interesting as well. The location was not too far from the city centre and it was quite easy to find public transportation; furthermore, the staff was always available to help their students get a bus pass or to give them maps and explain how to reach the main places in town.

For a month I have been with a wonderful host family and actually it has been an incredible experience. They made me feel like a real part of the family and I spent such a good time with them. The house was very clean and comfortable, and just a 15 minute walk from the school.

I would personally suggest to book with a host family; Nottingham local people are very friendly. The city has an active and dynamic nightlife as well.

"The time in Nottingham and in your school was very fine!"

Elisabeth Schweitzer

It seems that the ILS works professionally. The first day (introduction & test) was good and important for orientation, and all people in the school were very friendly.

The teachers were motivated and used different methodologies, so that it was always interesting and diverting. However, the progress in the course was a bit slow for me; the course could have had more grammar and linguistic topics to be discussed.

Beyond that, I appreciate the program on Saturday (trips to other cities).

Unfortunately, there were some major problems with the accommodation (Victoria Hall), but there were different phone numbers I could call. I gave feedback to Miss Wike; she knows in detail about the problems.
