The city of Breman is located in northwestern Germany. It is a town made familiar by the Grimm brothers’ fairytale, the Bremen Town Musicians. In fact a statue on the west side of the Town Hall depicts the donkey, dog, cat and rooster from that tale. With a major port on the river Weser, Bremen plays an important role both industrially and commercially for northern Germany. The climate in Breman is oceanic, with wind playing a part on some days. Although the winters can be cool, there is rarely snowfall. Students enrolled in German school in Bremen should definitely take time to explore the Market Square which is considered the heart of Bremen. There visitors can view the Town Hall and see the famous statue of Roland, the protector of the city. A stroll through the Schnoor is sure to charm any visitors. The crooked lanes of this area take visitors past fishermen’s houses from the 17th and 18th centuries. Most have now been converted into cafes, quaint shops and art galleries.
